Too Nice Guys Productions : Mission Statement
I started TOO NICE GUYS PRODUCTIONS when my first distributor
candidly informed me that I was “too nice to work in the film business”.
At first, he was right. One of the things I learned while making my first couple
of movies was the Court system. I went to Court five times within a period of
four years. Why? Because I trusted people. And I believed that if I were a good
person and a man of my word, others would follow suit. But people change when
they make movies. There’s a tremendous amount of risk, stress, heart and ego
involved in making a film… not to mention WORK. And whether it’s a hit or a
flop, the stakes are very high. So, I learned a lot. I won all five cases
incidentally (never underestimate the power of documentation!), and I still
believe that if I’m a good person, others will follow suit. And I’ve been lucky
and diligent enough to attract other nice guys, like Vern Pershing, Robert Hays,
Andrew J. Traister, C.B. Bissell, Sheri Hellard (“guys” is generic), and The
great Michael Grasso of "Eat Me Catering". Now, filmmaking is fun,
creative, collaborative, and inspiring. As it should be…
